Providing Opportunities For Women In India

Our mission in this initiative is to empower women in India by offering flexible, dignified, remote employment that allows them to achieve financial independence, professional growth, and a better work-life balance, regardless of societal or logistical constraints.

This initiative is a movement for women’s empowerment, safety, and economic participation in India.

Kimon is transforming lives by providing highly qualified women in India with secure, reliable work-from-home opportunities. India is a society where traditional norms and safety concerns often restrict women’s mobility to work. Our initiative breaks barriers, enabling women to contribute meaningfully to their family’s financial security and the economy without compromising their safety or cultural values.

This impact directly aligns with the Outsourcing Impact Report’s (OIR) mission to spotlight initiatives driving social progress and economic inclusion.

Providing Opportunities For Women In India

Why is it unique, and how is it measured?

We offer a fully remote-first model – 100% home-based roles eliminate the need for commuting, addressing safety and cultural concerns unique to India.

We employ a rigorous, data-driven approach to measure the social and economic impact of our initiative, which empowers women in India through remote work.

Our process combines quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback to ensure a holistic understanding of our outcomes.

Key Indicators Used:

Number of Women Employed Remotely

This tracks the total and year-on-year growth in women hired into remote roles.

Retention Rate

We measure the percentage of women who remain employed after 12 months.

Home Income Growth

Based on their salary we can attribute it to the change in the average household income in India.

Work-Life Balance Improvement

We assess this by analysing people against our core values, comparing our working patterns to the average, and conducting periodic surveys on time spent with family, commuting, and personal development.

Professional Advancement

Through tracking promotions, upskilling, and participation in training programs we can analyse the progression of the team.

Kimon Empowerment Index

This uses a composite score based on increased decision-making power, financial autonomy, and self-reported confidence, adapted from established frameworks.

  • Women employed (till August 2025): 438 women placed in remote roles
  • Retention rate (12 months):95% retained after one year

(Data August 2025)

These metrics are benchmarked annually and compared to industry and regional averages to contextualise our progress.

Continuous Feedback Loops are created using regular surveys and focus groups with our women employees to identify emerging needs and challenges, allowing us to adapt training, mentorship, and support programs.

Data-Driven Program Adjustments provide a deep analysis of retention and advancement data, which informs recruitment strategies and the design of flexible work policies.

Monitoring empowerment indicators helps us refine our approach to personal and professional development, ensuring we address barriers unique to women in traditional households.

Impact data is shared with stakeholders and used to drive internal culture and advocate for broader adoption of remote work models that empower women.

Is the initiative sustainable in the long term?

1

Financial Sustainability

Our initiative operates as an integral part of our core BPO operations, generating consistent revenue through client contracts, which funds the employment and training of women working remotely.

The remote-first model reduces overhead costs significantly, enabling sustainable financial management without reliance on external grants or donations.

We apply strategic financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting practices aligned with industry best practices to ensure steady cash flow and profitability.

Our model supports scalable growth, allowing us to onboard more women as client demand increases, ensuring long-term financial viability.

2

Environmental Sustainability

By enabling work-from-home opportunities, we eliminate daily commutes, reducing transportation-related emissions and contributing to lower urban pollution.

We leverage digital tools and cloud-based systems to eliminate paper use and waste.

Remote working reduces the need for large office spaces, lowering the energy consumption of the business.

3

Organisational Sustainability

Dedicated leadership oversees the initiative, integrating it with Kimon’s overall strategic goals and ensuring accountability. We also ensure there is no single point of accountability so the program will run regardless of any personal bias within the company.

Ongoing skill-building programs maintain workforce quality and adaptability, securing employee retention and satisfaction.

Our approach respects local cultural contexts, fostering trust with families and communities, which is vital for sustained participation.

Impact and operational data guide iterative enhancements, ensuring the initiative evolves with changing needs.

Future Sustainability Plans

We plan to broaden the range of job functions offered remotely, increasing opportunities for women.

Collaborations with NGOs and government programs will be pursued to amplify social impact and resource sharing.

Transparent, regular reporting will attract socially conscious clients and investors, supporting financial and reputational sustainability.

The Benefits Of This Initiative

The initiative’s flexible remote work framework allows quick adaptation to changes such as technological advances, client industry shifts, or socio-economic factors.

Use of digital tools and data-driven feedback loops ensures ongoing refinement of work processes and employee support.

Cultural sensitivity and community engagement enable smooth entry into new regions or demographic groups.

Saloni, a graduate from a small town in Odisha, was unable to relocate for work due to family care responsibilities. Through a remote work opportunity in our HR department, she now contributes financially to her family while managing household duties, feeling empowered and valued. Her story exemplifies how remote work breaks traditional barriers, enabling women to balance career and family without compromising either.
